On February 17, 2026 the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners met for Regular Session (Rescheduled from January 27) and unanimously passed several honorariums.
The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution honoring the life and service of Charles W. “Charlie” Holt, Jr. and officially naming the new judicial facility adjoining the Lawrence County Courthouse the Charles W. Holt, Jr. Judicial Annex.
Lawrence County honors and remembers Charlie Holt for his decades of faithful service as County Attorney, his distinguished legal career, and his lasting impact on the administration of justice, public service, and the people of Lawrence County. His legacy will continue to guide those who seek justice and serve the community within these walls.
The Commission proudly recognized Eden Morgan, a student at Lawrenceburg Public School, for her outstanding achievement in mathematics at the 7th Annual Tennessee Elementary Beta Convention, held November 21–23, 2025, in Nashville.
Lawrence County congratulates Eden on this remarkable accomplishment and commends her dedication, hard work, and continued pursuit of academic excellence while representing both her school and community with pride.
The Board also recognized the students and sponsors of David Crockett Elementary School’s Junior Beta Club for their outstanding achievements at the 7th Annual Tennessee Elementary Beta Convention, held November 21–23, 2025, in Nashville.
Lawrence County is proud of these students and sponsors for representing our community with distinction and setting a high standard of excellence across the State of Tennessee.
Last but not least, the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners proudly recognized Tayden Russell, a senior student-athlete at Lawrence County High School, for his outstanding achievements on the football field.
Lawrence County is proud of Tayden for his leadership, dedication, and exceptional athletic performance, and for representing Lawrence County High School and our community with distinction as he continues his academic and athletic career at Lindsey Wilson College.
