On May 27, the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners convened for its regular session and voted on several key items.
The Commission proudly recognized the 2024–2025 Loretto Mustangs Basketball Team for their perfect season and TMSAA Class AA State Championship victory.
New appointments were made to the Lawrence County Public Library Board.
The annual lease agreement with Columbia State Community College for the Southern Tennessee Higher Education Center was approved.
The Commission approved the naming of key local landmarks:
The bridge on Busby Road will now be known as the “Mary Todd Bridge”, with a memorial sign honoring Janet GieskeThe crossing over Blue Water Creek on Beartown Road will officially be named “(Bo) Yocom’s Ford”
Additional resolutions supporting economic development, budget amendments, and cost-saving measures for inmate medical care were also approved.
